Japanese Croquette

Servings: 4 persons


  • 4 medium potatoes
  • A carrot, finely chopped
  • 120g of beef mince
  • A half onion, finely chopped
  • 5 tbspoons of soya sauce
  • 2 tbspoons of white wine
  • A tbspoon of honey
  • A pinch of salt
  • A egg
  • 6 tbspoons of breadcrumb
  • 6 tbspoons of flour



  1. Cook potatoes in boiling water for 20 minutes. Mash the potatoes in a bowl.
  2. Stir-fry carrot, onion and beef mince in a frying pan with salt.
  3. Add soy sauce, sugar, white wine and honey.
  4. Add 3. into the mashed potato.
  5. Make patty.
  6. Break an egg in a bowl
  7. Put the patty into flour, beaten egg and breadcrumb (respectively).
  8. Deep fry the patty in the oil (180 degrees) until the batter becomes crispy.
